Whenever I’m feeling shitty about myself or I get discouraged I look at this picture. That is what 5 pounds of fat looks like. ONLY FIVE! Really?! I’ve lost 4 of those?! And I remind myself that I lost all of that and I can do the rest, too. It’s interesting to note that fat takes up about twice as much space as muscle. You can weigh the same and look COMPLETELY different. Fat for thought, people.

Post-Strength-Training-Amazingness Shake (or, Chocolate-Peanut Butter-Banana Shake)
After strength training class on Thursday I went out and bought my first protein powder (in chocolate and vanilla for some variety). I just bought the kind that was on sale, so I don’t know if it’s really any good, but it tastes delicious and the nutrition info seemed good to me (so I’m happy). I was in the mood for some chocolate/peanut butter yumminess, and I had some frozen bananas on hand, so this shake was created. After strength training class this morning, I recreated the magic and thought I’d share it with you. Yes, YOU! If you like/love any of these ingredients you should try it out ASAP. It’s amazing. Also, did I mention that it’s less than 300 calories? And chock full of over 25 grams of protein?
Ingredients:
one frozen medium banana (105 calories)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (100 calories)
2 tablespoons PB2 (45 calories)
1 cup unsweetened Almond Milk (40 calories)
I use my immersion blender (if you don’t have one, they’re super cheap and very useful. a regular blender would work just fine as well) and just blend all the ingredients up for about 2 minutes. Get a straw and suck that baby down (straw is necessary, in my opinion). This shake is so good, but I’m limiting myself to make it only after doing strength training class. Otherwise, I could be in trouble…

Nutrition Facts: 290 calories, 6.9g fat, 1g sat. fat, 60mg cholesterol, 355mg sodium, 37g carb, 6.6g fiber, 17.4g sugar, 25.3g protein
